DIY SOFT NIGHT-LIGHT FOR SWIFTLET HOUSE

This is an example of a method to create a night-light.

We can also utilise an energy-saving night-light outside of the entrance hole. This night light is energy efficient and can contribute to the overall effectiveness of the birdhouse. The night lights' main purpose is to act as a deterrent for the natural predators of the swiftlets, the owl, and the eagle. Other species of the birds can also be prevented from entering and affecting the habitat for the swiftlets. Swiftlets are generally shy birds and will be severely affected if there are uninvited guests in their birdhouse.

It is important to remember to use energy-efficient day-light tubes, because these bulbs are generally brighter, care should also be taken to remove the PVC cover of the light bulb.

The timing for turning the lights on and off can be set at 7:45 pm for turning on and at 7.00am for turning off. Light sensors may also be used if the owner wishes, to control the turning on and off of the lights.
