GOOD ENTRANCE FOR SWIFTLET HOUSE

A good entrance is important for the swiftlet house. It is safer to install an iron grill and alarm systems for security reasons. Its length and width makes it easier for the swiftlets to get in and out.

With constructions to the interior, and exterior, a simple hut evolves into a beautiful swiftlet house. It can now be a home to many swiftlet families.

SWIFTLETS LIKE PAPER MOCK NESTS

From these pictures, we know that baby swiftlets like to stay on the tweeter we install. However, if we place the paper mock nest on the top of the tweeter, the baby swiftlet won't resist to stay there as well. After several months, they are still willing to build their nests there and breed their offspring.

LARGEST NEST HARVESTED

This is the largest nest in my BH. Everytime i do harvesting, i will leave this one untouched, because i want to observe its changes. After a year, i found out that because the nest is located on the corner of the plank, the swiftlet would increase the height of the nest by building on top of the original nest. I am therefore suggesting to all swiftlet lovers that they can leave a few nests untouched during harvesting in the future. These nests will act as samples for future observations. I believe this is the good way to understand swiftlets.

MY BIRD'S NEST ACHIEVEMENTS

These bird's nests are all formed inside the paper mock nests. After a year of hard work, my paper mock nests are all working well. I had a long think about this before deciding to extract these nests. They are the nests of my dreams and i wish to share the beauty with everyone.

This is the 10 gm nest with paper mock nest (2gm of paper mock nest)

This is the original bird's nest.

The 10gm nest has been formed in the paper mock nest. The swiftlets will form the nest accordingly to the shape of the paper mock nest. It can be seen that although the swiftlet used the paper mock nest to form its own nest, the shape that is formulated is still the same as the nest which was formed without the paper mock nest.

Although these 2 nests are form at different method (The 10gm was formed in the paper mock nest while the 8gm was formed naturally), the 8gm nest looks exactly like the 10gm nest in terms of size, weight, structure and shape. This shows that the used of a paper mock nest does not affect the quality of the nests which the swiftlet produces. This proves that the paper mock nest can assist the swiftlets in the production of their nests.

TOO EARLY TO HARVEST

This pair of little swiftlets, they may need a couple of days to fly. Please don't harvest their nest too early. We must have patience and wait until they are fly away.

Some might ask? 1000gm(1kg) of bird's nest after processing can take back how many pieces,The answer is 125pcs (6gm per piece)

1kg of raw nest can only process about 750gm, for example, the 1kg have to remove out feather, sand, and others .Then soak it into the container with water for cleaning and removing all unused parts. After heating and air drying, we will have a nice nest. 75o gm /6 gm=125 pieces, put 6 pieces in a box. We can have 20.83 boxes.

SWIFTLET'S HOUSE TWEETER INSTALLATION

This is the recommended layout for tweeter installations for a new double-storey swiftlet's house.
2 kinds of tweeter are used both internally and externally. External tweeters are installed on the entrances and the rear walls. There are also external tweeters needed on the ground floor at the back of the control rooms, loading bays and the front end of the swiftlet's house.
Internal tweeters are also installed on the timber planks, note that these tweeters are facing different directions in the house.
