These nests are the remnants of bird's nests after processing. The nests we see and buy commercially are the products of processed bird's nests. The remaining pieces can then be put together to create these clumps of bird's nests.

After the process on being cleansed in water, feathers and dirt may still be trapped in these nests, therefore they may not be as pricey as the cleansed bird's nests. I would not recommend for these pieces to be processed for consumption. However, they can still be used for the creation of the swiftlet house scent.
