It requires plenty of effort, monetary expenses, human commitment, time and patience, to be able to cultivate and ultimately, extract these valuable bird's nests. They are a valuable asset to the world, and a rare natural resource.
This is the ultimate reward we receive, for developing, maintaining, and taking care of our birdhouses.

PEST CONTROL DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR BIRD HOUSE 燕屋防虫害沟渠
This special drainage system is customised to prevent pests from entering the birdhouse. The pests it keeps out include, ants, rats and snakes.
The drain is constantly filled with water. In the water, we can add a little pest-control liquids and rat poison. This is done to prevent the rats from entering the house. These pests are a natural danger to the swiftlets and the birdhouse will not be effective if they are allowed to enter the houses.
Another advantage of the water in the drains will also adjust naturally, the humidity and the temperature in the birdhouse.
They may also be disadvantages of the drain. During the rainy season, it is important to continuously add in the poison and other liquids. It is also important to continuosly clear the drainage system of the dead and decomposing pests. The decomposition may lead to foul smells which will be bad for the birdhouse. Dirty waters may also lead to the breeding of mosquitoes.
For a stand-alone building with 3-4 levels, this drainage system is very useful. I would reccommend this for these kinds of birdhouses.

SWIFTLET'S BABY:- READY-GET SET-GO
The swiftlet's baby are growing up healthily and are all mature enough to fly .They will be able to leave their nests any time. Please try to let them stay in the old bird's house, and not the neighbour bird's house. They are our property and our future.
This is the season for swiftlet nest harvesting. Birdhouse owners are working hard to harvest nests. However, there are at least 10% of swiftlets who are not fully mature yet and are staying in the house.
We should make the efforts to clear abit of the bird droppings and replenish the aroma in the birdhouses. This should be done to try to keep the young swiftlets in the house. By keeping the house in its original state, and leaving the swiftlet sounds on, we can provide for a conducive environment for the baby swiftlets to stay in, and maybe bring in new neighbours for them.
This way, we can have a successful birdhouse.

READY FOR BIRD NEST HARVEST 燕窝收成
It is time to get ready for the bird nest harvest, but some of the baby swiftlets are still young, a rough estimate would show that maybe 10% of them are still maturing. We must help them to keep growing, and follow the rule of nature.
Allowing the birds to grow will provide for a few advantages. Firstly, the ecosystem will not be affected and the life cycle of the swiftlet will be kept intact.
Secondly, allowing the swiftlets to fully mature before harvesting the nests will mean the swiftlets will have a familiar resting place. This will make them feel comfortable in the bird house. Being comfortable in the location means the swiftlets will be more willing to continue staying in the same habitatnd maybe choose to continue breeding at the same place. This will ultimately contribute to the success of the birdhouse, as more and more birds will appear.
Patience is a virtue! Love nature! Take care of our natural resources.

THE PERFECT CONTAINER SWIFTLET HOUSE IS BORN
The perfect swiftlet house is made using a used container. It's easily transportable, built in with planks, wirings, a sound system, humidity control and others. It's easy to transport to any places you would prefer your swiftlet house to be. The swiftlet house can be shifted for bird call tests, for permanent location, to estates, country sides or everywhere you prefer.
There is one thing to worry about, it is the electricity supply and limited space for swiftlet to build nests. Normally it can contain about one hundred and fifty pairs of swiftlets. We can also build it into double storey units or combine 2 containers together so that it can house more swiftlets.
The other advantage of this container is that we can pre-install the equipments at the factory or work site, and then relocate it to any place we want to build the Birdhouse.

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE SWIFTLET HOUSE
This is one of my new design of swiftlet houses. It only used 3 units of MP3 players, 1 timer, 1 ton of timber plank, 500 pieces of timber corner edge, 40 pieces of indoor tweeters and 8 pieces of outdoor tweeters. I spray the aroma for BH twice a week. There are also some bird droppings mix with ammonia and water in a flat bucket. Finally, turn on the sound. .........................................
After 2 weeks time, a swiftlet is staying in this BH.

SWIFTLET BABY ARE READY TO FLY
This video was taken at 1pm on the 1st of May, 2010. Here's wishing all a Happy Labour Day.
After two weeks, some of the swiftlet babies are ready to fly, This would mean that the market will have a lot of bird's nest supply, I am happy because we can help to domesticate this wild species bird, allowing it to become a house species bird. Breeding them in the houses can let them get the comfortable treatment which the swiftlet farmer will provide. We can work together to give them a good environment.
