I would like to introduce this method of humidifing, a bird house with a 48inch by 10 inch plastic mini pool, to all swiftlet lovers.
This device is easy to set up, cheap and maintainance free. The water can be replenished monthly to prevent it from drying out. With the installation of the pool, it is important to ensure that the water is kept in motion. This is to prevent stagnation of the water which may lead to the breeding of mosquito larvae. Installing a commercial fish tank pump in the pool will solve this problem. An alternative way to do this would be to rear a few fishes in the pool. These fishes may be low maintenance. The beauty of the fountain will also be enhanced.
With this method, costs of humidifing the bird house can be kept low. This device is useful because it can optimise the humidity level in the swiftlet house, making it a conducive environment for the swiftlets.
Hi ,
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know government law is not allow swiftlet farm to have stagnant tank in the farm as it may become mosquito bank.
Thank you for your comments. Please allow me to clarify that the tank water has to be kept in motion, I have suggested the use of a commercial fish tank pump. This device is cheap and allows the water in the tank to be kept moving.
ReplyDeleteFishes may also help to prevent the mosquito problem.
What happen if the chick drop into the pond?
ReplyDeleteThere are mosquito prevention powders to be used for stagnant waters to prevent mosquitoes. I think is quite cheap and useful to use.
ReplyDeletelike a kind medicine use put in water
What happen if the chick drop into the pond?
ReplyDeleteThis depends on the clever positioning of the pond in a location where it is not directly under most of the nests. This pond is used as a humidifier. Any location in the house will be suitable.
